Six Eagles Tabbed With ECFC All-Academic Honors
Whittingham, VT - The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference is proud to announce the 2011 All-Academic honorees. Husson boasts 6 football players in the list of forty-five student-athletes who participated during the 2011 season that are receiving recognition. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing, have participated a minimum of two years with the team and achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

Dance Named 3rd All-American Team By Beyond Sports Network
Bangor, ME- Husson First-Year linebacker Stephan Dance has been named to the All-American Defensive 3rd Team by the Beyond Sports Network. Dance led all of NCAA Division III in solo tackles in 2011 with 85

Deuring Named to First Team, Five Eagles Honored by ECFC
Bangor, ME - Eagles' Senior Offensive Lineman Brad Deuring was named to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference Offensive First Team in a vote by league coaches. Deuring is the lone Husson player to earn first team honors, however four of his teammates were named to the ECFC 2nd Team.

Husson Athletics Announces 2010-2011 Athletes of the Year
Bangor, ME – The Husson University athletics department is thrilled to announce this year’s recipients of the inaugural Male and Female Student Athlete of the Year awards. Under the new direction of Athletic Director Bob Reasso, the athletics department will begin to honor a male and female athlete who exemplify what it means to be a Husson Eagle. This year, two women have each separated themselves from the pack and are each deserving candidates of the inaugural female athlete of the year award. Cross Country runner Angela Stauble and 3 sport athlete – Soccer, Basketball and Softball – Amanda Gifford are each the recipients of the 2011 Female Athlete of the Year Award. Kyle Vanidestine, who plays both Football and Baseball at Husson, has been named the 2011 Male Athlete of the Year.

Husson Held Off By Spartans
Castleton, VT - Juniors Shane Brozowski (Rensselaer, N.Y.) and Tyler Carpenter (Fort Edward, N.Y.) helped give eight Castleton State College seniors a warm send off from their final career home game at Spartan Stadium, combining for five touchdowns as the Spartans downed visiting Husson University 40-20 in Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) action.

Husson Outlasted by Privateers
Bangor, ME - The Husson football team provided a few sparks, but it was slow and steady all day long for the SUNY Maritime Privateers who earned the 34-13 victory at the Winkin Complex on the campus of Husson University. With the win, Maritime College improves to 7-1 and a perfect 5-0 record in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while the Eagles are still searching for their first win, and fall to 0-8 (0-5 NAC).

Bangor, ME - The Husson University Eagles continued their struggles in 2011, losing their 7th consecutive game to the visiting Norwich University Cadets at a rain-soaked Winkin Complex this afternoon. Norwich is on the other side of the coin, winning their 5th straight Eastern Collegiate Conference match up to improve to 5-3 on the season.

Husson Falls to Mt. Ida in ECFC Clash
Saturday, October 15, 2011(Newton, Massachusetts) - The Mount Ida College football program captured their second straight Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) victory over visiting Husson University Saturday afternoon in a 50-0 bludgeoning on a beautiful day in Newton, Massachusetts. The Mustangs, who are 3-0 against the Eagles in league play since the inception of the ECFC three seasons ago, improve to an overall record of 3-3 with a conference slate of 2-1. The visitors remain winless for 2011 at 0-6 with an ECFC record of 0-3.

Bison defense clamps down on Eagles in 35-0 win
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University football team has seen their fortunes turn over the course of a month after suffering back-to-back heartbreaking losses to begin the season. The Bison picked up their third win a row Saturday afternoon with a 35-0 shutout against Husson University in an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) game before a crowd of 350 at Hotchkiss Field.

Bangor, ME - The Husson football team was unable to capitalize on their chances in a tightly contested Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) match up. Regulation finished with the teams deadlocked at 14, and the Becker College Hawks came through on their overtime possession to earn the 20-14 victory.

Bangor, ME - The #13 ranked Wolverines of Wesley College flexed their muscles this Saturday, as they walked away from their matchup with Husson University with a 72-0 victory. Wesley outpaced the Eagles in every statistical category, and proved why they are a perrenial contender for the Stagg Bowl.

Springfield, MA -- Seven different players scored touchdowns as the Springfield College football team defeated Husson University, 63-19, under sunny skies at Amos Alonzo Stagg Field Saturday afternoon. With the win, SC is now 2-0, while the Eagles fall to 0-2. Husson was beaten badly in the first half, but showed signs of improvement, coming out of the lockerroom at halftime and put up 13 points in the 3rd quarter.

Husson Football Week 1 Awards
The Husson football team honored three players who turned in quality performances despite the uneven loss to Adrian College in the opening game of the 2011 Season. Each week, the Eagles will choose a player from Offense, Defense and Special Teams who played particularly well in the contest.

Husson Football Bulldogged by Adrian
The Husson Men’s Football team lost the first game of the 2011 season 77-7 to Adrian College. The Eagles welcomed Adrian to Bangor by opening the flood gates, letting up 667 yards to the visiting Bulldogs. The Eagle offense was stagnant for most of the game, picking up just over a hundred yards of total offense in the game. The lone Husson highlight came with 2:30 left to go in the game, when Kash Keezer (Orono, ME) found Audie Murphy (Biddeford, ME) in the back corner of the end zone for a 17 yard touchdown reception on a 4th and goal.

Husson Football vs. Adrian College, Tickets on Sale Friday at 5:00 pm
Beginning with the 2011 Football season, Husson University will begin charging admission to all home football and men’s and women’s basketball contests. Tickets will be sold for $3 to children age 10-18, and $5 for adults; children under the age of 10 and Seniors over 55 get in for free. Ticket sales will begin 2 hours before the scheduled start of each event.

Once... Twice... Three Times a Hersom
Brotherhood is oftentimes a cliché that’s thrown around in sports with less accuracy than a 3rd string quarterback. Brotherhood is a concept that is used by coaches to rally their players around a common goal, to unite unfamiliar individuals under the same banner. World War 2 had its Band of Brothers, the Mighty Ducks had their Bash Brothers, heck, even the WWF had its Brothers of Destruction, but none of them were actually brothers. None of them were like the Hersoms.

Sean Murphy Named Head Football Coach
Husson University is pleased to announce Sean Murphy as Head Football Coach. Murphy served as Associate Head Coach for the 2010 season and will take the helm effective immediately. He brings a wealth of coaching and administrative experiences to Husson and will continue to serve the campus community as Assistant Athletic Director.
