Cadets March Past Husson

Portland, ME - Husson University dropped a 9-5 loss to Norwich University Tuesday evening at Deering High School’s Memorial Field. .  With the loss, the Eagles fall to 4-5.  Four different Eagles scored in the game.

Norwich scored five first quarter goals to take a 5-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of action. White got the Cadets on the scoreboard first when he scored off a pretty feed from Marzeoti at the 13:50 mark.

Galante made it 2-0 just two minutes later when he scored an unassisted goal. NU then added two goals in a span of 28 seconds to extend its lead to 4-0. White struck again for his second tally of the stanza at the 8:37 mark, and Marzeoti added a man-up goal at the 8:09 mark. Pearson potted another first period goal late in the first quarter.

The Cadets netted the only two goals of the second period as White and Patrick Sikora each tallied markers.

Norwich held Husson to just nine shots in the first half, and Nathan Proctor stopped both of the offerings that made it on goal as the Cadets carried a commanding 7-0 advantage into halftime.

Mattson’s goal midway through the third quarter increased Norwich’s lead to 8-0, but Husson (4-5) tallied a pair of markers in the final 3:10 to trim the Cadets’ advantage to 8-2 after three quarters.

Three unanswered goals by Husson trimmed NU’s lead to 8-5, before Marzeoti scored his second goal of the game with just under one minute to play to round out the scoring.

Proctor finished with seven saves to earn the victory between the pipes for the Cadets.

Husson outshot Norwich, 31-25, but the Cadets enjoyed a sizable edge in ground balls (53-27). NU also dominated the faceoffs, winning 14-of-18 on the night.
